There was a Cheetah at Wal-Mart. You’ve heard of the people of Walmart…how about the animals of Wal-Mart? I received this photo from a friend this past week. She stumbled into the grand opening of the smallest Super-Walmart in North America. My town is home to such a claim. In celebration, they brought in a Cheetah…not your everyday event in this little town…
When we hear that kind of news, we tend to send it along. We think that other’s should know about this. We think others should experience the reality of this amazing truth. We’re quite convinced of this actually. We tell others.
When we hear such spectacular or unusual news…We ask for evidence. Some of us are slow to believe and others of us believe right away, but we all desire proof.
This is what Easter is all about.
People, who call themselves Christians, are expressing belief in the idea that Jesus actually rose from the dead. It is a truth that is shifting their lives and causing them to rearrange their focus, their worldview and what they place their hope in.
And, you, like me, are asking for proof. Look what I did, when I was told about the Cheetah:
I immediately wanted to see. And them wanted to share if it were true.
What if the resurrection of Jesus is actually true? What if you were able to reasonably infer that Jesus rising from the dead was the most likely outcome of those radical events 2,000 years ago?
You’d share the good news. You’d seek out the meaning of this audacious intrusion of God upon humanity.
That is what I am doing…hope some others join us this weekend.
