I grew up about 120 miles from where I live now.  120 miles is quite a trip by car.

If you have a friend who is a pilot, you can make the trip in just under an hour!

My little hometown has a little airport and we flew right in yesterday for the afternoon.  (I needed to see someone real quick like).  It was so fun!  We left (by car to the airport) at 1:45, arrived (at the destination airport) at 2:55, had an appointment from 3PM until 3:30PM, socialized until 5PM and then was home in time for dinner (seriously my wife and I had company over).  How cool is that?

Thanks Dave Simon!  It was and adventure to be remembered!

That was way cool…I just wish I could have been there to see you. You are so blessed. Is God good, or what? Makes you realize just how “rich” you are. Thanks, Dave, for making that possible for my boy…

  3. Mrs F says:

Wow, what a trip! Was it scary at all, talk about trust…

  4. That is very cool.

Did I mention that you are cool?

that your friend Simon is cool too?

that you must have been meeting some really cool people?

The trip was a lot of fun and yes, Dave is really cool. Did I mention that he plays Chopin and Rachmaninoff by ear and from memory? I have never seen fingers fly over the keys like his. He is the cool guy…I am so blessed to know him…

    MRS F:
No, I wasn’t scared at all. Dave has been flying that plane his whole life (its his dads). Landing was a little bumpy, but all in all it felt very safe. I just wish I was a little shorter so I could fit in the cockpit.

Dave and I will have to pick you up some Saturday at Independence. Dave says the aviation community there is really cool. I know that he would allow you to be fly the plane (he let me).

    Thanks for the comments!
