I am off to officiate a wedding.

I hope I don’t screw things up.

  1. What an honor to be chosen by a couple to walk with them through such an important ceremony. (one of two that we still have left) How did it go?

  2. Bridger says:

It was an honor. One that I look forward to in the future. I find that I really enjoy doing weddings. Of course I have only done 3, but nonetheless, I have enjoyed all three. I can’t quite place my finger on it, but I am so comfortable in that setting. (At least with the ones that I have been a part of so far).

This one was a success for sure. I guess that, unless someone does object and create a scene, most weddings are successful in terms of fulfilling their most basic goal. This one was successful beyond that in my estimation.

I do think that the atmosphere was nice. People laughed, cried and shared moments of reflection.

I think it went very good.

    Thanks for asking.

  3. That sounds like it was what a wedding (in my opinion ) should be. There are two things that I hope a wedding will have: 1) significance.. whether through formal ceremony or whatever.. the weight of the moment should be felt. 2) Community. A marriage is not just about two people… it’s about two lives… two whole communities.
Bridger, you help me see things inside a world I’m often curious about. The full-time ministry world. Over the years I’ve often wondered what it looked like from the other side… What is full time ministry on Monday morning at 9:45… or Thursday afternoon at 2pm?

  4. Bridger says:

I would say that it is just like what yor life is, but my pay comes from creating, administrating and executing church related functions and events.

That isn’t an all-inclusive statement, but does sum up how I feel about it.
