The Ring

Ok, here is something totally unholy that I am doing tonight.

Watching “The Ring.”

I have heard a lot of people say that this is a very scary movie . . . and then, when the Friar reccomended it, well I had to see it. The Friar is a man who I respect tremendously. I hope to interview him here sometime . . . He influences me more than he knows . . .

So far this movie is boring . . . I am by myself, so I am watching it on my computer as I write.

I am a bit of a chicken . . . I refuse to watch it full-screen . . . My primary computer is a Dell Inspiron 8600 (15.4″ widescreen) so I am able to use side by side windows pretty easily . . . so I am watching it on about 1/4 of my screen . . . pretty lamo, huh?

00:26 – Okay, there were a lot of creepy images shown when she watched the tape.
00:46 – This is developing slowly . . .
00:49 – Very spooky dream sequence . . . and now her son is in this all . . . he has watched the forbidden tape . . . now we are moving . . .
00:58 – The whole horse thing wasn’t freaky . . .
1:01 – Ok, now she goes to a spooky house . . . yeah that is a little overdone . . . Fog and dreary weather . . . meets a stubborn personality (who is hiding something) . . . this is a little predictable . . .
1:06 – Getting a little freaky (it is midnight by myself)
1:46 – This movie was scary . . . and I liked the end . . . sure left room for a sequel . . .

Anyway . . . that was my night tonight . . .

Feel free to criticize my choice of movies . . .

So do you recommend it or no? I couldn’t really tell if you liked it. I didn’t know you liked scary movies. I love suspense, but gore…well, not really. So what kind of scary was this? Cheesy or actually suspenseful?

  2. Bridger says:

I did like it . . . It was suspensful in the sort of way . . . ummm . . . make that a combo between “what lies beneath” and the sixth sense. Not gory, though . . . freaky. I am going to see the Ring 2 tonight with the Friar.

  3. mrs.f says:

So what did you think of the Ring 2? Curious. Sequels you know…well..you know.

  4. Bridger says:

I did like the sequel. Scared the pooh outta me.

I have no idea why we like to put ourselves through such torture.

I don’t think I will have any adrenaline for a few months.
